Michie Houses is a family owned and operated business committed to making your rental experience in Providence as easy as possible and an unforgettable one. 

We offer room and suite rentals in the best neighborhoods of Providence, Rhode Island.

We seek to enhance temporary housing through the concept of coliving provided by shared accommodations with common spaces in a fully furnished, high quality home with tons of amenities and services.

What is Michie House? 

Michie Houses is designed to be an easy platform for you to make your booking. Just follow this 3 steps: 

  1. Listing: Feel free to check our more than 40 rooms in different neighborhoods, their availability according to the calendar, and choose the one that best suits your needs.

  2. Booking: Whenever you are ready to make your reservation, just click on the “Book Now” button. If you have any questions before  the booking process, or regarding it, please feel free to review our Frequently Asked Questions guide or contact us.

  3. Payment: We offer different online payment methods, including American Express, MasterCard, PayPal and VISA. 

As an additional step after your stay, we would love it if you could leave us a review!

How does Michie House work? 

We are aware of the health measures and sanitary protocols established by the World Health Organization and other reliable international sources. Therefore, by implementing them, we are confident that our guests will be able to enjoy their stay, feeling safe both themselves and us.

We offer more than 40 bedrooms in our different 7 homes for you to choose from depending on your preferences. We have private queen bed bedrooms, king bed bedrooms, themed bedrooms and suites.

What kind of rooms do you have?

Your rent will cover your fully furnished room and access to fully furnished shared areas and a fully equipped kitchen. Also services like high-speed internet, heat and hot water, as well as locks and security for safety and privacy on your room. In addition, our Michie House includes fresh linens and towels, as well as cleaning supplies. We take care of any fees you would pay in a typical rental for you to make the best of your time on what counts!

What is included in my rent?

The security deposit is to have your room ready for you and to leave it as clean for our next guest. Especifically, it is for furniture, damages, and early check outs.

Yes! The common areas, as well as the rooms are fully furnished ready for you to settle and enjoy! We also offer fresh linens, towels and cleaning supplies.

Are all rooms fully furnished?

We do have parking spaces at our facilities. However, these are limited, so beforehand, when making your reservation, you should check if there is still parking available at the house where you will be staying.

Is there parking available?

Yes, all our rooms include Wifi. Prior to your arrival, our team will contact you, providing you with the network name and password, which are also enabled in the link of the room you have rented.

Is there WIFI available?

We work with two types of locks: traditional locks, with keys; and keypad locks, with passwords.

When you make your reservation, and it is confirmed by the Michie Houses team, you will be provided with the indications to access, either the key in case of a traditional lock, or the password in case of a keypad lock.

How do I get my keys?

At the moment we are not allowing pets of any kind, for sanitary reasons and also out of consideration for other guests who may be uncomfortable because of it.

However, the exception to this rule is when one of our guests requires the services of a guide pet, which has been trained to help him/her with respect to the impairment he/she has.

Are pets allowed?

We have worked hand to hand with design specialists for you to have a comfortable, modern space and are constantly renewing our furniture and decor to keep it updated so we would prefer you not to.

Can I add/remove things from my room?

If there is any maintenance issue, please feel free to contact Cesar, who will gladly answer your doubts, at 401-696-6755.

Who can I contact about maintenance issues?

OUR LOCATIONS

Your safety is our priority and that is why, just like the Michie House front door, every room works with either one of our two types of locks: traditional locks, with keys; and keypad locks, with passwords.

When you make your reservation, and it is confirmed by the Michie Houses team, you will be provided with the indications to access, either the key in case of a traditional lock, or the password in case of a keypad lock.

How can I secure my room?

Usually this will depend on the house you are staying in , and also on the dates you are planning to visit. However, you can always coordinate with the hosts about it.

Can I meet my roomates?

Key charge is $10 for the new one.

What happens if I lose a key?

We only show the house common areas. We won’t hold tours in your private room.

Do you hold tours of my home during my stay?

Of course! To extend your stay, you must first check the calendar to see if the room is still available. If so, you can increase the number of nights you will spend in the room. 

Alternatively, you can check the calendar to see if another room, either in the same house or in another house we have nearby, will be available on the rescheduled dates.

Can I extend my stay?

No, the room you rent is the one you get, if you want to relocate or change your room, please contact us

Am I able to change my room in the same Michie House? Or relocate to another Michie House location during my agreement?

Yes, we have a series of rules that all our tenants must follow, to ensure an adequate environment, a friendly atmosphere, and a pleasant relationship, both among the tenants themselves, as well as between the tenants and the Michie Houses team. This set of rules will be provided to you together with your Check In instructions, so that you can familiarize yourself with them beforehand, in order to avoid any mishaps.

Are there any House Rules?

Yes, we have a series of rules that all our tenants must follow, to ensure an adequate environment, a friendly atmosphere, and a pleasant relationship, both among the tenants themselves, as well as between the tenants and the Michie Houses team. This set of rules will be provided to you together with your Check In instructions, so that you can familiarize yourself with them beforehand, in order to avoid any mishaps.

Can I ask for an early check-in or late check out?

Yes. Depending on the calendar, if there are no guests leaving on that day and the room is ready you can check in as early as 11 am. Check out is at 11am. If you need your luggage to be kept somewhere we can, you need to contact us first.

Do you hold tours of my home during my stay?

Only long term guests, then we require you to remove your mail. Please remember that we are not responsible for any mail or packages.

Can I get mail and packages in my Michie House?

You can pay through platforms(airbnb, booking, etc) or Zelle, Venmo, and hardly cash.

What payment options are available?

20 days after departure.

When will I receive my security deposit?

Yes, we have the security deposit fee, and the cleaning fee. Both are of utmost importance, especially now in times of pandemic, when cleanliness and sanitation protocols become more relevant.

Are there any additional fees?

Depending on how far in advance the reservation is cancelled, a full refund may be available. If you cancel at least 5 days in advance, you will be refunded the full amount paid, otherwise, by Michie House policies, we will have to charge for the stay.

What happens if I want to cancel my reservation?

We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please contact us!

My bill is incorrect. How do I fix it?

Our Policies

If they stay for more than one night, they need to pay extra $10 per night and it should be communicated to us.

We do have parking spaces at our facilities. However, these are limited, so beforehand, when making your reservation, you should check if there is still parking available at the house where you will be staying. For most of our homes, we also have on-street parking.
